This beautiful Victorian country house is set in rolling parkland with deer and sheep grazing, unimpressed by the array of modern sculpture overseeing their consumption.
The house was last refurbished by an interior designer known for her role in grand country estates and custodian of her own.
With the bones of the house exuding the presence and calm of history, the designer had cleverly layered timeless elegance with some more modern elements that seamlessly integrated the owner’s modern art collection.
We recovered various bespoke joinery, fire surrounds and fabrics but our main focus was on the 12 bathrooms. The designer had commissioned some quite unique, bespoke sanitary ware along with kit from the premium brands, Drummonds and Volevatch. Drummonds kit is quintessentially British craftsmanship at its zenith while Volevatch a more delicate, vintage inspired brand whose design is unmistakably French.
The contents are now being reused across the country from Brighton to Durham and Wales.
A delightful house and garden and welcome antidote to London living.
