Project Description

We were introduced by the project manager to the owner of this laterally conjoined pair of houses on Eaton Square with their unusual, Gothic Revival mews house. The owner had decided to convert back to two separate houses, keep one and release the other onto the market.

This project provided an opportunity to recycle a significant volume of it’s fixtures, our team initially working alone and later alongside the main contractor.

The penthouse appeared untouched since the 70’s with some fabulous teak cabinetry and doors that exuded Roger Moore’s Bond pad. The owner’s apartment with it’s opulent brass and steel hand rail had over over 200 Sqm of American walnut strip flooring, kitchens, bathrooms and sauna. We also recovered around 60 original column radiators from the two houses and found a new home for the Schindlers lift with the buyer dismantling, a cost saving of £5000 on normal deinstallation.

From the mews, previously used as office and staff quarters, we recovered kitchen and bathrooms and the wonderful Gothic Revival windows from the rear elevation. One of the garages had been converted to a fully equipped laundry with several commercial washing machines, dryers and large rotary iron, snapped up by the owner of a country estate.
